The Blow-Down Flood Area

The first photo is of the new bridge crossing Milk Creek. Another PCT hiker recommended it, because the Milk Creek was much higher when she crossed it. I got in some stinging nettles looking for the route after the bridge.

The Forest Service created a detour 10 miles longer. I have not talked to anyone who has taken it. Everyone uses the regular route made more difficult by the blow-down / flood from 2003 and 2006. There are pictures of the over-grown trail and deadfalls that need to be cleared.

From Milk Creek to the Suiattle River, the Forest Service has done nothing to clear the trail, making this the hardest part of the PCT.

The log crossing is on the Suiattle River.
