I had not expected the sudden 30 degree drop in temperature. I used some old bubble wrap that had little air left in the bubbles. The ground was so cold, I spent some of the night sleeping sitting up. I also made hot water to warm me up. The next day I hiked 30 miles to get my ThermaRest pad.
